🛑 The Red Exit Sign Theory (trust me)

Hey Reader—

This week as I was editing a pesky bright red exit sign out of countless photos, I kept thinking of something one of my mentors said years ago …

“It is the micro changes that make macro results in the long run.”

Let me explain—here's what I was reminding myself while editing:

I obsess over the details in editing, because I KNOW my BG Moms obsess over the million little details that go into preparing for the photos:

  • ⭐️ Making sure all the outfits coordinate, from the bows to the shoes.
  • Ensuring hair-washing day lines up with photo day
  • Double-checking the weather and hoping the rain will hold off
  • Getting your makeup just right … brows filled, lashes curled, lip gloss packed for touch-ups
  • Perfectly timing the baby’s schedule with naps and snacks so they stay happy the whole session

Because they know that the tiniest details create titanic impact.

Which is exactly why I'm on a mission to help make your life easier when it comes to making all those decisions … and that starred one? That’s what we're talking about today!

It's the micro details in styling your family’s outfit that make macro results in your final photos!!

In today's blog, I’m digging into the most common myths when it comes to styling your outfits!

Here’s what we’re covering:

  • The exact system I use to style family outfits
  • The top 5 myths most people believe when choosing their outfits for photos
  • And 5 things to avoid while styling

There is lots happening over here… Only 10 days into October and I’ve already photographed 7 families, a baby shower, and a wedding … but through it all, I just keep thinking about how grateful I am for this community. Whether you’re here for the styling tips, faith, encouragement, or just a peek into my life, I love getting to share this journey with you. 🥰

September's Downtown Gilbert Mini Session

It’s really crazy to think we are officially in the back half of these 2025 minis!

September’s Mini Sessions were so amazing … almost a teaser for what’s to come in the next couple of months!

It’s been a while since I last had a session at Downtown Gilbert. You may not have noticed, but green grass and trees tend to be my favorite spots. But I got to say—it was so fun to shake it up and shoot in an urban location!

Although it for sure has it's challenges ... check out the blog to see how we did navigating Downtown Gilbert on a Saturday evening, with HOMECOMING!! 😳 See how we did!! →

Adam & Aubrey's 2025 Morrison Ranch Session

Someday we are going to need a whole mini session day, just for the Grondin Family! 😅

I can hardly believe it, but we just took Everly’s 1-year-old photos!! I have to say, I have a whole new understanding for 1-year-old sessions now. After getting to sit on the sidelines and watch this sweet girl grow for a year, I now understand that it’s so much more than just a good photo! I'm sharing more about it on the blog!

Adam & Aubrey are expecting a little boy in January ... the day after my birthday!! It’s crazy to think that the next time we do this we will be wrangling TWO babies!!

Our Family Photos on the Blog!!

This year is a special one because it’s our first set of family photos with a GRANDBABY in them!!

It’s really such an honor that I get to be on the sidelines watching and photographing so many other families as they grow! I never take it lightly that I get to help capture these stories … your legacy in photos! It’s just extra special getting to help do that for my own family!

Sharing more in the blog about what life looks like for us now a days as grandparents, aunties, & an uncle ... here's a hint: we're living the dream!

Rachel & Michael's Wedding Day

When Rachel had originally reached out and shared their plans for their big day, it sounded like my dream wedding … less than 25 guests, a nice ceremony, beautiful photos, and dinner with all their friends and family. There is something about the small weddings that I just love!

And let me tell you, their wedding was perfect in every way!!

I’m always so grateful to get to work with the sweetest couples & families! I hope you enjoy scrolling though Rachel & Michael’s wedding at the Barn at Power Ranch!!

Hi Reader, Most businesses are in full-court-press mode this week. I’m... not. Here's what this week actually looks like for me: I'm not launching anything new or running a flash sale. I'm spending my energy on tying a bow on BGP for 2025 instead of promos this season … that looks more like spreadsheets & journals, than blogs & reels. I’m finishing up my last few sessions of the year & getting my mind wrapped around Spring 2026 Minis The business runs around my life, not the other way...

The homeschoolers have been keeping a secret, Reader … And maybe I’m breaking the homeschooler code by telling you this, but here it goes: When we started homeschooling, one December day we finally cracked. We vulnerably told our seasoned homeschool friends, “Oh boy—how are you all doing this so effortlessly?” They smiled and said, “Oh, we all take December off from school.” Wait…that’s allowed? Yep. You make the rules. Here in Arizona, we want to enjoy December’s cooler days. We rest during...

Hey Reader! I know there are mixed opinions about Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving, but if I could I would string garland and lights around this email for you! 🎄✨ Before your inbox turns into a circus of “LAST CHANCE 50% OFF” subject lines this month, I wanted to slide in with something that feels a little different. I’ve been thinking a lot about what it means to build a business with purpose—not just in theory, but in practice. BGP has always been about supporting families, through...
