Hey Reader!
The challenge this week isn’t doing more.
It’s not letting the pressure hijack the peace you just built.
I’m easing back into work after a two-week holiday break—and truly, it was delightful.
Somewhere on the drive home, I heard myself say out loud:
“I think this is how it’s supposed to feel to be human.”
We squeezed in so much quality time—my love bank feels full.
- 📽️ I finished our year-in-review home movie
- ⛰️ Gave the Yellowstone 2025 album as a Christmas gift
- 🧵Carved out time for hobbies, played, and—get this—actually slept
It was soul-filling.
And then, January 1st showed up.
And like clockwork, the classic New Year energy.
Fresh ideas started pouring in. That kind of clarity that only comes after true rest.
Out of nowhere, I had the urge to:
- Learn piano
- Read the stack of books that’s been sitting on my nightstand
- Deep clean every closet, drawer, and clutter zone in the house
And my inbox?
Clearly got the same memo.
It was flooded with sales, goal-setting prompts, & open loops I hadn’t even considered.
New shoulds.
New to-dos.
New expectations.
And with all of it came the whispers:
Oh I forgot I needed to do that.
That should’ve already done.
And BGP Minis aren’t going to plan themselves.
Now I’m home. Sitting in that odd space between rest and ramp-up.
Time to set goals—for real.
But honestly?
I feel like I’m trudging through mud.
Dreaming is one thing. Doing the work is another.
And to top it off—there’s this suspicious head cold I can’t tell is real …
or just the adult version of “I don’t want to go to school today.”
So here’s what I’m learning—and what I want to share with you this week:
Some things—like raising littles and building a peaceful home—simply don’t happen on a 30-day goal timeline. These aren’t quick wins. They’re slow, steady investments.
You keep showing up.
Quietly. Faithfully.
They’re forged in the little things:
- Early mornings with slow coffee, soft lighting, and homemade breakfasts.
- Bedtime routines—baths, books, back scratches, and prayers.
- Ordinary choices that don’t look like much on the outside but compound in ways that matter.
Not every season asks for dramatic change.
Not every chapter needs a fresh start or grand reinvention.
Some seasons call you to sink deeper into what’s already working—to stay anchored in the routines that are already serving your family and your peace.
So if you’re like me—feeling a little behind & a little stuck—here’s what I’m leaning on:
I’m going back to my rhythms.
And I’m putting the two-minute rule to work.
If it takes less than two minutes, I do it right away.
It builds momentum.
It creates a sense of movement, even when things feel slow.
This week, I'm inviting you to try just one tiny thing with me.
Set up your photo organization folders for 2026.
I did it for myself this morning. Here’s all it takes:
Set it up.
Drop in the photos and videos you’ve taken in the past nine days.
That’s it.
Then, later on—when you decide how you want to organize, print, or create with your photos this year—your favorites will already be sorted and waiting.
A small do-able step.
Hope it helps.
Warmly,
