Reader,
Most moms don’t feel like they’re doing enough, no matter how much they do.
The laundry, the meals, the teaching, the mental load… it never really ends.
Whenever I get the chance to talk with my BG Moms, their heart is all the same… they just want the best for their kids. 💕
In between school drop offs, grocery store runs, and late night feedings, it’s always there in the back of their mind … worrying about their health, their education, their friendships, their future…
… all while the "mom guilt" slowly creeps in.
Somehow, at the end of the day, there’s still that quiet question:
Did I do enough today?
I heard a story years ago that has stuck with me ever since …
A woman called into a prayer line and shared about her husband who had recently passed away.
She said he used to invite her outside with him.
“Come sit with me. Bring your coffee and let's listen to the birds.”
And she would laugh and say she didn’t have time.
There was laundry piling up, dishes to wash, and a million things calling her name inside.
But now that he’s gone, she said something that stopped me in my tracks:
“What was I so busy doing that I didn’t have time to sit with him?”
Motherhood can feel like you’re running all day long… only to end up right back where you started.
Somehow there are still toys on the floor, nothing in the fridge, fingerprints on the window, and the kids are hungry again. The work is never really “done.”
But what if we’ve been measuring progress all wrong?
What if the most meaningful parts of your day are the ones that don’t check a box?
The conversations.
The hugs.
The quiet, in-between moments ... nursing at midnight, watching a show together, holding their hand as they fall asleep.
Every playful moment. Every outbreak of laughter. Every sad moment. Every tantrum. Every creative idea.
Simply, sitting beside your little one, even when nothing “productive” is happening.
So, happy Mother’s Day, Reader! 🥰
