Hey Reader!
Coming to you live from Studio A! 🤩🎥🎞️🔴
Caitee’s studying film and asked me if I could model for her a couple times this week. She’s modeled for me for years without question, so the answer was of course: YES!
I feel like I’m on a full blown movie set here … BIG lights, sets, backdrops, walkie talkies “Can I get some C47s over here? 1-10.”* 🤩
⬆️ She speaks their film lingo, and I feel so cool getting to hang with her. I’m calling myself her “crew”.
The other day she set up the studio, built the big light, framed the shot and a bunch of her fellow class mates arrived. Next thing I knew, I’m surrounded by tons of cameras and people are giving Caitee high-fives & pats on the back for bringing a model.
Caitee texted me on Wednesday:
"You're on the BIG THEATER MOVIE SCREEN! Everyone used you for their project. 😳😂”
Hey look ma, I made it!
(The introvert in me is trying not to think about the fact that for a 2 hour class they reviewed footage of Bethie 😂)
... It was exactly the kind of unplanned joy I didn't know I needed.
Which, honestly? It was just a perfect little reminder that just being available, saying yes, and showing up can lead to some of the best moments and laughs. And to be frank, I’m happy to help convert a group of college kids to become slightly light-obessed goofs. ✨
So, in the spirit of small joys, here are a few things I'm currently loving:
What I'm Loving This Week:
🔧 Omni Focus:
Sanity saving tool … Especially in the Fall, when to-dos run rampant.
Jordan Raynor talks about this in his book "Redeeming Your Time" on how to use this app, to collect all your open loops. But you don’t need a fancy-pants app, your notes app or even … get this … a piece of paper will do the trick. Here’s how it works: You write down every single to-do down that crosses your mind. You can sort out and organize the list later, but for now get it out of your head.
The biggest key here? It’s ONE list. You dump every to-do in one spot, so you don’t need to track down 12 smaller list later or worry you are still missing something.
📖 Redeeming Your Goals
The kind of read that makes you constantly say, “Gosh, how come I haven’t thought of it like that before!” I’m about half way through. I’ve been listening as part of his pre-book launch and I won't be able to finish it before I loose access to the audio book this week. But you better believe that I'll be ready with a freshly sharpened #2 pencil handy, when I finally get my copy in the mail. ✏️📦
🍐 Danielle Walker’s Chai Poached Pears Recipe
The easiest *fancy* dessert you’ll ever make. Taste so good. Makes the house smell amazing. We’ve been loving pears these days, and this just makes them extra special!
📦 Operation Christmas Child Collection Week: Nov. 16-23
Last minute we decided to bop out to Target this week and pack our OCC boxes. Collection week is coming up! CLICK HERE to learn more about OCC … this by far is one of our family’s favorite Fall tradition … the best way to kick off the holiday season!
🍂 Rosy Rings Apple Spice Candle
Burning it non-stop these days, plus they are so pretty!
🛞 Meet Willy.
The newest member of the BGP team. 🤎📷 He's been sitting pretty high on the dream-car list for a very, very long time. I have a feeling you'll be seeing quite a bit of Willy around here. He's already very excited about hauling my camera bag, scouting locations, and heading out to The Field mini sessions next weekend!
If you happen to spot a tan Jeep with FAM P1CS on the plate driving around town… that's probably me. Give Willy & me a wave! 👋🏻
Silly Willy wanted to be in the family photos too! ⤵
Hit reply: What's one small joy that surprised you this week? I'm collecting these like other people collect match boxes.
Just behind modeling for Caitee, my next favorite part of the week? Emailing you! Thanks for being here, Reader! 🥰
Till next time!
Warmly,
*Turns out, “Can I get some C-47s over here? 1-10.” directly translates to “Can I get some clothes pins over here?” and “Got it.” in normal people talk. Idk, but maybe I should bring some of that over to my lil sessions to make things feel more official.
