120 kiddos, 3 families, & a bag of broccoli 🥦

Hey Reader!
Coming to you a *tish* later than your usual 6 am Friday morning newsletter, because well … I had a surprisingly cute broccoli date this morning. 🥦
Allow me to me explain …
My little niece turns TWO on Sunday (HOW?!) and while her mama was busy getting birthday surprises ready, I got to spend the morning with the birthday girl.
Grandma picked her up & we met at the park.
She came running all the way across the field when she saw me hop out of Willy at the park to give me a great big hug.
And when “Auntie Bethie … coffee … spill” came stuttering out of her mouth we just giggled. No clue that this is one of my busiest weeks of the year, and Auntie Bethie is practically living on coffee these days! 🤪☕️
Just this week, I had 120 kiddos and 3 families pass in front of my camera and 5 MORE families coming tomorrow! (My memory cards are throwing a party. 🎉)
But for a few hours everything paused, we played at an empty park, went down the slide a few (dozen) more times, and took a little trip to the grocery store for broccoli for dinner. I was texting my sister-in-law photos of Everly giving the broccoli hugs and kisses! (Apparently two is a fresh start for her & she’s decided she loves broccoli)
Nothing fancy or planned… just killing time and enjoying being together.
And gosh, it was WONDERFUL.
All those emails & editing could wait … We had a very important date to enjoy. 🥹
And the funny thing is ... somewhere between the broccoli and the birthday plans, I had a little realization.
This is life.
... Busy and slow...
... messy and wonderful...
... rainy days and sunny ones...
... full calendars and unplanned mornings at the park.
It doesn't all have to be perfect. It doesn’t need to be improved … it doesn’t need to speed up OR slow down.
We can just enjoy it for what it is.
And I wonder if you need to hear that, too?
Because between the hot glue guns, half-finished fairy wands on the kitchen counter, and Halloween costumes that still need finishing touches ... the days just keep flying by.
And HOW is it already the end of October?! 🍂
There are so many little moments to enjoy, and somehow never quite enough hours in the day for everything we'd like to do.
And the LAST thing I want is for family photos to feel like one more thing you have to squeeze in.
Because gosh, this season is worth remembering… Just as it is.
It can be so hard to find time for photos ... especially in the throws of the holiday season!!
⬆️ I hear that from moms all the time.
That’s exactly why my 20 minute mini sessions are designed for busy families with young children.
It’s this simple…
Look at the dates & book your mini session
Put together your family’s outfits using my shoppable style guides
Leave your session with happy kids, a happy husband, and dreamy photos
So instead of feeling frazzled and overwhelmed by family photos this fall …
You get to be the mom who easily captures your family’s legacy.
And have every milestone with your littles captured.
I only have a few more mini sessions dates for the rest of the year!
And just TWO spots left for my Coons Bluff Desert Minis on November 14th! 🌵
Everything is planned for you (even the outfits!), so come as you are. We'll spend 20 minutes playing, laughing, and capturing this little season of life.
I'll take care of the photos, so you can just enjoy being with your crew. 🥰
You can learn more about all my upcoming mini session dates & snag one of the LAST few days here →
Now, if you'll excuse me ... I've got a very important TWO-year-old birthday to celebrate this weekend! 🥳 If you need me, I'll be having tea parties with stuffed animals and wondering “what do giraffes say?” at the zoo. 🦒
Warmly,
The Desert Minis | November 14th & 21st
Think: Cacti, Golden desert light, dreamy mountain views🌵✨
There are only 2 spots left for November 14th (!!) So if you want one of them? Book it right now.
There are some sessions I photograph that just feel extra special … and the Padilla’s Family Photos was definitely one of them!
Kiyomi reached out and said “Is there any chance you are available on October 17th? We are getting ready to move back to Texas at the end of October. We would LOVE to have one more session with you before then!” Of course, we had to make it happen!!
Their family is one of my favorites! Little Emiko who is 3-years-old now came running up to me full speed and gave me a great big hug! And Eliana who is 6-years-old is just so sweet!! 🥰
→ You want a good, long session to give you the time & space to capture the photos you love without the hurry that comes with a petite session.
→ You want more than just the standard photo that any photographer can take -- you want photos that are unique to your family & tell your story a bit more.
→ You want photos that have more creativity, fun composition, and a nice mix of candid & posed photos ... those types of photos come by giving me more time to workshop & play around during the session!
